sodastream-recall.pngSodaStream is recalling thousands of carbonating bottles for a possible injury hazard.

The company issued the voluntary safety recall after discovering a manufacturing defect that could result in the bottles exploding or bursting under pressure. SodaStream says it has received no reports of injuries so far.

The recall involves about 51,000 one-liter, blue-tinted, plastic carbonating bottles. The recalled bottles have a blue cap and blue bottom base and have an expiration date of "4/2020" printed on the warning label.

The bottles, which were available at Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, Walmart and online, were sold from February 2016 through January 2017. They retailed for about $15.

Consumers are urged to stop using the bottles and contact SodaStream for a full refund. Consumers can contact the company at 866-272-9417 between 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or online here and click on the recall at the top of the page or here for more information.
