'Error 53' Means Your Expensive iPhone is now a Brick

“Error 53″ is not a bug. It is shutdown caused by a hidden, “protective” bit of code that disables newer iPhones that have been repaired by third-parties, turning an iPhone or iPad into a very expensive paperweight.
